TWILIGHT-(THE NEW MOON)

Twilight is a young-adult vampire-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer. Twilight was initially rejected by 14 agents, but became an instant bestseller when published originally in hardback in 2005, debuting at #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list within a month of its release and later peaking at #1. That same year, Twilight was named one of Publishers Weekly's Best Children's Books of 2005. The novel was also the biggest selling book of 2008 and, to date, has sold 17 million copies worldwide, spent over 91 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list, and been translated into 37 different languages.

It is the first book of the Twilight series, and introduces seventeen-year-old Isabella "Bella" Swan, who moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington and finds her life in danger when she falls in love with a vampire, Edward Cullen. The novel is followed by New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. A film adaptation of Twilight was released in 2008. It was a commercial success, grossing more than $382 million worldwide and an additional $157 million from North American DVD sales, as of July 2009.
Isabella "Bella" Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie, while her mother, Renée, travels with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, a minor league baseball player. Bella attracts much attention at her new school and is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys compete for shy Bella's attention.

When Bella is seated next to Edward Cullen in class on her first day of school, Edward seems utterly repulsed by her. He disappears for a few days, but warms up to Bella upon his return; their newfound relationship reaches a climax when Bella is nearly run over by a fellow classmate's van in the school parking lot. Edward saves her life when he instantaneously appears next to her and stops the van with his bare hands.

Bella becomes determined to find out how Edward saved her life, and constantly pesters him with questions. After a family friend, Jacob Black, tells her the local tribal legends, Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires who drink animal blood rather than human. Edward confesses that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was too desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love.

Their relationship is disturbed when another vampire coven arrives in Forks. James, a tracker vampire who is intrigued by the Cullens' relationship with a human, wants to hunt Bella for sport. The Cullens attempt to distract the tracker by splitting up Bella and Edward, and Bella is sent to hide in a hotel in Phoenix. There, Bella receives a phone call from James, who claims to be holding her mother captive. When Bella surrenders herself, James attacks her. Before she is killed, Edward, along with the other Cullens, rescues her and defeats James. Once they realize that James has bitten Bella's hand, Edward successfully sucks the poison from her bloodstream and prevents her from becoming a vampire, after which she is brought to a hospital. Upon returning to Forks, Bella and Edward attend their school prom and Bella expresses her desire to become a vampire, but Edward refuses.

THE POEM '' HOME THEY BROUGHT HER WARRIOR DEAD''

The poet of this poem"Home They Brought Her Warrior Dead"is MR.Alfred Lord Tennyson. This poem states thatafter a war the soldiers had brought a dead body of a soldier with them who had perished in the war.the body of a dead warrior is brought home to his wife and she has no reaction to this and is in too much of shock to show any emotion.
the maidens conclude that if she does not cry, all the bottled up grief will kill her.
the first try to make her weep by praising the warrior, calling him a true friend and i noble foe, but this doesn't change her state of shock
then a maiden goes over to the dead body and removes the cloth that covers his face, hoping for grief to flow out of the wife, but it doesn't.
finally a ninety year old nurse places their child upon her knee, and her tears roll down like a summer tempest (sudden and furiously) and she(warriors wife) says "sweet my child,i live for thee".

The United Nations (World Health Organization)

The United Nations Organization (UNO) or simply United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress human rights, and the achieving of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries, and to provide a platform for dialogue. It contains multiple subsidiary organizations to carry out its missions.
There are currently 192 member states , including nearly every sovereign state in the world. From its offices around the world, the UN and its specialized agencies decide on substantive and administrative issues in regular meetings held throughout the year. The organization has six principal organs: the General Assembly (the main deliberative assembly); the Security Council (for deciding certain resolutions for peace and security); the Economic and Social Council (for assisting in promoting international economic and social cooperation and development); the Secretariat (for providing studies, information, and facilities needed by the UN); the International Court of Justice (the primary judicial organ); and the United Nations Trusteeship Council (which is currently inactive). Other prominent UN System agencies include the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Food Programme (WFP) and United nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The UN's most visible public figure is the Secretary-General, currently BanKi-moon of South Korea, who attained the post in 2007. The organization is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states, and has six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
In the 21st century, health is a shared responsibility, involving equitable access to essential care and collective defense against transnational threats.
All countries which are Members of the United Nations may become members of WHO by accepting its Constitution. Other countries may be admitted as members when their application has been approved by a simple majority vote of the World Health Assembly. Territories which are not responsible for the conduct of their international relations may be admitted as Associate Members upon application made on their behalf by the Member or other authority responsible for their international relations. Members of WHO are grouped according to regional distribution (193 Member States).
The headquarters of the world health organization are in Geneva, Switzerland.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is one of the original agencies of the United Nations, its constitution formally coming into force on the first World Health Day (April 7, 1950), when it was ratified by the 26th member state.Jawarharlal Nehru of India had given an opinion to start Who. Prior to this its operations, as well as the remaining activities of the League of Nations Health Organization, were under the control of an Interim Commission following an International Health Conference in the summer of 1946.The transfer was authorized by a Resolution of the General Assembly. The epidemiologicalservice of the French Office International d'Hygiène Publique was incorporated into the Interim Commission of the World Health Organization on January 1st, 19
The WHO's constitution states that its objective "is the attainment by all people of the highest possible level of health .” Its major task is to combat disease, especially key infectious diseases, and to promote the general health of the people of the world.
Apart from coordinating international efforts to control outbreaks of infectious diseases, such as SARS, malaria, Tuberculosis, swine flu, and AIDS the WHO also sponsors programs to prevent and treat such diseases. The WHO supports the development and distribution of safe and effective vaccines, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and drugs. After over two decades of fighting smallpox, the WHO declared in 1980 that the disease had been eradicated – the first disease in history to be eliminated by human effort.
The WHO aims to eradicate polio within the next few years. The organization has already endorsed the world's first official HIV/AIDS Toolkit for Zimbabwe (from 3 October 2006), making it an international standard.
In addition to its work in eradicating disease, the WHO also carries out various health-related campaigns — for example, to boost the consumption of fruits and vegetables worldwide and to discourage tobacco use. Experts met at the WHO headquarters in Geneva in February, 2007, and reported that their work on pandemic influenza vaccine development had achieved encouraging progress. More than 40 clinical trials have been completed or are ongoing. Most have focused on healthy adults. Some companies, after completing safety analysis in adults, have initiated clinical trials in the elderly and in children. All vaccines so far appear to be safe and well-tolerated in all age groups tested.
The WHO also promotes the development of capacities in Member States to use and produce research that addresses national needs, by bolstering national health research systems and promoting knowledge translation platforms such as the Evidence Informed Policy Network –EVIPNet.WHO and its regional offices are working to develop regional policies on research for health -the first one being the Regional Office for the Americas PAHO/AMRO that had its Policy on Research for Health approved in September 2009 by its 49th Directing Council.

Indonesia Shrugs Off Earthquake, But Not Bubble Fears

In the pre-dawn hours on Wednesday, Indonesia became the latest country to be rocked by a natural disaster, as a 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at sea about 200 kilometers northwest of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The quake was felt throughout Sumatra and Malaysia, and there were news reports of electrical outages throughout the country. The earthquake also sparked a tsunami alert in Thailand, as authorities began issuing warnings for coastal areas popular with tourists. Thailand’s National Disaster Warning Centre warned there was a high risk of a tsunami along the Andaman Coast, the same area where more than 5,000 people dies following a 2004 tsunami. But the quake only caused small waves to wash up on Thai shores, and the warning has since been lifted.

Reports of damage from the quake were scarce, and casualties were expected to be minimal. The Jakarta Stock Exchange was operating normally on Wednesday, as major metropolitan areas shrugged off news of the overnight earthquake and went about business as usual. The earthquake seemingly had little impact equity markets, but other factors weighed on an Indonesian stock market that had been soaring higher in recent sessions. Trading in the Market Vectors Indonesia ETF (IDX) was heavy on Wednesday, with share volume exceeding twice the average daily level after less than three hours of trading. IDX was recently trading down about 0.5% on the day, potentially putting an end to an impressive rally in Indonesian markets.

The country’s benchmark Jakarta Composite Index recently hit a new all-time high after the central bank elected to leave interest rates unchanged IDX, which tracks the Market Vectors Indonesia Index, is up about 19% on the year, and has gained more than 175% over the previous 52 weeks.

HISTORY-(ADOLF HITLER)

Hitler moved to Munich in 1913 and avoided Austrian military service in early 1914 by virtue of being unfit. However, when the First World War broke out in 1914 he joined the 16th Bavarian Infantry Regiment, serving throughout the war. He proved to be an able and brave soldier as a dispatch runner, winning the Iron Cross (First Class) on two occasions. He was also wounded twice, and four weeks before the war ended suffered a gas attack which temporarily blinded and hospitalised him. It was here he learnt of Germany’s surrender, which he took as a betrayal. He especially hated the Treaty of Versailles.Hitler engineered territorial expansion, uniting with Austria in an anschluss, and dismembering Czechoslovakia. It was in September 1939, when German forces invaded Poland, that other nations took a stand, declaring war. This was not unappealing to Hitler who believed Germany should make itself great through war, and invasions in 1940 went well. However, arguably his fatal mistake occurred in 1941 with the invasion of Russia, through which he wished to create lebensraum, or ‘living room’. After initial success, German forces were pushed back by Russia, and defeats in Africa and West Europe followed as Germany was slowly beaten. During this time Hitler became gradually more paranoid and divorced from the world, retreating to a bunker. As armies approached Berlin fromIn 1932 Hitler acquired German citizenship and ran for president, coming second to von Hindenburg. Later that year the Nazi party acquired 230 seats in the Reichstag, making them the largest party in Germany. Helped by support from conservative politicians believing they could control Hitler, he was appointed Chancellor of Germany on January 30th 1933. Hitler moved with great speed to isolate and expel opponents from power, shutting trade unions, removing communists, conservatives and Jews.
Later that year Hitler perfectly exploited an act of arson on the Reichstag (which some believe the Nazis helped cause) to begin the creation of a totalitarian state, dominating the March 5th elections thanks to support from nationalist groups. Hitler soon took over the role of president when Hindenburg died and merged the role with that of Chancellor to become Führer (‘Leader’) of Germany.
two directions, Hitler married his mistress, Eva Braun, and on April 30th 1945 killed himself.

BIOLOGY-(DIGESTION)

Digestion is the mechanical and chemical breaking down of food into smaller components that can be absorbed into a blood stream, for instance. Digestion is a form of catabolism: a break-down of larger food molecules to smaller ones.

In mammals, food enters the mouth, being chewed by teeth, with chemical processing beginning with chemicals in the saliva from the salivary glands. Then it travels down the esophagus into the stomach, where acid both kills most contaminating microorganisms and begins mechanical break down of some food (e.g., denaturation of protein), and chemical alteration of some. After some time (typically an hour or two in humans, 4-6 hours in dogs, somewhat shorter duration in house cats, ...), the results go through the small intestine, through the large intestine, and are excreted during defecation. When you eat foods—such as bread, meat, and vegetables—they are not in a form that the body can use as nourishment. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before they can be absorbed into the blood and carried to cells throughout the body. Digestion is the process by which food and drink are broken down into their smallest parts so the body can use them to build and nourish cells and to provide energy.Digestion involves mixing food with digestive juices, moving it through the digestive tract, and breaking down large molecules of food into smaller molecules. Digestion begins in the mouth, when you chew and swallow, and is completed in the small intestine.

POETRY-(THE INCHCAPE ROCK)

First, in Inchcape Rock by Robert Southey, the story of the Inchcape Bell is told. It was anchored by the Abbot of Aberbrothok to a buoy atop Inchcape Rock. On mild days, like the one on which the poetic story begins, the waves might wash over the Inchcape Rock but they would not stir the buoy nor the Inchcape Bell. Therefore, the seas were calm and the ship captains, sailors and townspeople needed no warnings of rough seas, which was the function of the Inchcape bell--to give warning of rough and dangerous seas.

Anchored offshore was the plundering ship of Captain Sir Ralph the Rover who was in a boisterous, springlike mood and conceived a mischievous and wicked plan. His sailors rowed him to Inchcape Rock and he cut the Inchcape Bell from its fastening to the buoy (which he called a Float). Sir Ralph watched the bell sink amidst bubbles while thinking of the wicked jest he had played against the memory of the Abbot of Aberbrothok.

Sir Ralph went to sea to plunder merchant ships. When he had gained a full cargo of riches, he returned to Scotland's shores and Inchcape Rock. The skies on that day were dark and overspread with storm threatening clouds. The gale force wind of the daylight hours had died away at night and no sight was to be seen in the black stillness.

The rising moon gave Sir Ralph the Rover occasion to say that there would soon be light enough to see the land by. But the sailors replied that they wished they knew how near to the rocks they were because they could hear the breakers crashing on the rocks--and they sorely wished they could also hear the Inchcape Bell.

A jolt rocked the ship. They had struck the Inchcape Rock. As the ship is torn apart by the storming waves, Captain Ralph the Rover curses his wickedness and, as he faces his dying breaths, hears the Inchcape Bell rung from beneath the waves by the Devil's hand to toll Ralph the Rover's death knell.

GEOGRAPHY-(UAE)

CHEMISTRY (The Periodic Table)

The Periodic table is a very important part of Chemistry. The tableahs eight groups of elements, plus a block of transition metals. Group one of table is often called as the alkali metals, group is the alkaline earth metals, group eight is called the halogensand group 0 is the noble gases. The horizontal rows in a table are called periods.Period two contains lithium, beryllium, boron, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, fluorine and neon. The atoms of the transition metals have more complicated electron arrangements.

PHYSICS (Kinematics:Speed,Velocity and Acceleration

Physics is a subject related to Mathematics. It is one of the most interesting subject for anyone who loves Mathematics. Kinematics is a very important part of Physics.Kinematics is a branch of mechanics that studies the motion of bodies. Amoving body is one that is continuously changing its position with respect to its observer or even with respect to the observer. Very few things move at the same speed for a long time. Moving cars, animals, aircrafts and all other moving objects may eventually speed up (accelerate)or slow down(decelerate). Acceleration means that a greater distance is covered in a shorter time. When scientists talk of how fast or slow a body is moving, they may talk about"velocity", not speed. By velocity they mean speed of a body in a paticular direction. There is a lot you can say about Physics but I guess it would take a very long time.

Blood

Blood consist of plasma, red blood cells, white cells and pletlets as well . Red blood cells are the body's oxygen carries. They carry oxygen from the lungs to all the cells of the body. The white blood cells Protect us from disease, they are much larger than the white blood cells. They all have a nucleus. Plasma os the yellow liquid. It is mainly water with digested food , harmones, and waste substances dissolved in it. Platelets are are fragments of cells formed in abone marrow. Their job is to stop bleeding from cuts. There are about five million cells in one drop of blood. We have nearly half a bucket (5.5 litres) of blood in our body.

The Second World War '' Inside Hitler's Gremany''

When Hitler heard the news of the Riechstag Fire he could hardly believe his ears, he had a very good example of going against the communists. Hitler banned the newspapers which dared to go against him, ''THE NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES '' left nobody to go agaisnt him. A word against Hitler meany instant arrest. The Jews suffered the most in Hitler's Germany.A more solid reason was that Hitler was famous was that he had found the people's jobs again. The people were more going towards Hitler and his army was growing. Hitler did alot for his country,he lead Germnay where nobody could do it . Hitler had decreased the number of Jews , as he had been blaming the jews for his as well as Germnay's problems from the very begining.

''ANTARCTICA'' The White Continent!!!!

''ANTARCTICA'' The White Continent!!!! Antarctica was first discovered in 1820, but the actual exploration began in the 20th centuary. It remains frozen throughout the year. Many countries have played a very important role in it's discovery, they have set up many weather and observations stations there, but U.S.A. has taken the lead because of the discovery of a city, McMurdo, where about 1,000 people stay for about seven months. It is extremely cold there throughout the year, scientist stay there during the summer months and come back in the winter months. The lowest winter temperature recorded in the South Pole is-95 degree celcius. The Queen Maud Range divides the continent into two equal parts. Some scientists belive that there are many large treasures of valuable resources found there. Antarctica has about 90% of the worlds ice.Asmall fish called ''Krill'' is found in plenty. Iwish that for once even Icould go there.
